GITANA was designed by Sparkman & Stephens and built in 2000 by Derecktor Shipyards as an extremely fast sailing yacht, with simple sail handling systems and absolute comfort on deck and below. These goals were well accomplished in her original design, then under her present ownership the yacht has had an extensive refit that included a completely new cockpit design and has also put all systems -- machinery, paint and soft furnishings -- into top condition.
GITANA is fully equipped and ready in all respects for extended world voyaging. She has also earned an enviable reputation as a charter yacht, for which her accommodations are ideal.
