The presentation of SUMMER WIND to the market must be introduced by some both complicated and also sad information. Firstly, the boat was owned by a gentleman who truly loved the boat and the freedom it afforded him to sail extensively. Indeed, it was upon a return voyage from Bermuda, May 2011, that the boat collided with a fishing trawler resulting in significant damage to the mast. The good news is that there was no other significant damage and that a new Selden mast with an in-mast furling system, a new jib furling system and a new mainsail and genoa are now part of the yacht's inventory.
So too are several new electronic components. It should also be noted that along with these upgrades, other significant improvements had been planned, including new interior and cockpit cushions.
However, before these projects were completed, the owner prematurely and unexpectedly passed away. The yacht now is being offered for sale with many significant new components, though also with some features that are absent. Thus, the new owner will have an opportunity to select his/her own interior's look. It should also be noted that upon inspection of the complete listing, one will note numerous significant improvements made during a major re-fit of the boat in 2007. SUMMER WIND is a well-maintained boat, suitable for coastal or distance cruising.
