She has been very well maintained by her original owner and has the equipment and systems one would expect for offshore cruising. Her long waterline, moderate wetted surface and powerful sail plan assure very good performance. The electric Stoway mast and electric winches allow for easy shorthanded operation. Her spacious interior is attractively finished with a large lower salon and well-designed pilothouse that offers ocean and harbor views while seated. 200+ miles a day are routine under sail, and speeds under power are comparable to trawlers.
During the past six months, SAND DOLLAR has been extensively refitted with a new Yanmar engine, Borg Warner transmission, 125 amp alternator, all new canvas, freshened original hull (buffed and waxed to a flawless finish), new bottom paint, Cutlass bearing and ten coats of freshly varnished exterior toe and hand rails.
