The Hanse 385 is a modern, fast and easy-to-handle yacht from the distinguished design firm Judel/Vrolijk. Her contemporary profile with plumb bow, generous freeboard and plenty of beam carried all the way aft makes for a hull form that is nicely balanced, with a high degree of form stability. And have we mentioned how responsive and fun she is to sail…?!

The cockpit is awesome, with loads of comfortable seating anchored around a teak table with an insulated top-opening cooler and expandable leaves with storage below. A large state of-the-art GPS plotter from B&G is mounted in a Scanstrut housing that can be tilted and turned for optimal viewing angles from either helm. The fold-down transom/swim platform opens up the whole cockpit to the water for ease of boarding and plenty of water play.

SOLAS was delivered in the fall of 2016 and was only very, very lightly used for several weeks before being hauled. Once ashore, all of the gear, cushions etc. were removed and placed in climate-controlled storage (the boat is totally empty except for docklines and fenders). The rig was taken out and the boat was put in covered storage. Due to a change in the owner’s plans, SOLAS has not been used since and is now offered for sale by her original owner in “like new” condition. She presents a unique opportunity to purchase an essentially new boat at a brokerage boat price, and as such is a great value in today’s market.

SOLAS was built to order in 2016, with optional features which allow for singlehanded sailing with push-button in-mast Selden furling, electric Harken self-tailing winches and a self-tacking jib. Docking and anchoring are made easy with an optional retractable bow thruster and an innovative recessed electric windlass complete with stainless chain and stainless anchor.

SOLAS features many upgrades, from fabrics to joinery to electronics, including bulkhead-mounted Samsung flat-panel Smart TVs in the salon and owner’s cabin forward.

There is storage aplenty with port cockpit locker, extended galley and a very large “sail locker” storage area with custom “boxed shelving” which can be accessed from the cockpit as well as from a passage belowdecks aft of the galley.

The Hanse 385 is a proven performer and is very much in demand on the brokerage market today. An early viewing is recommended.
