About

The Back Cove 29 is a most recent example of everything that makes the Down East lobster boat a work of art. She has a traditional spoon bow, and her transom is gently sloped -- a style that will turn heads in any harbor she enters. Below the surface she is modern and contemporary. A deep-vee hull with prop recess and standard trim tabs offers comfort and performance. With her optional 315 horsepower, 6 cylinder diesel engine, ALLEGRO reaches a top end of 28-29 knots and will cruise very comfortably in the low 20's. Around the docks, you will appreciate the maneuverability provided by her bow and stern thrusters. Without a doubt, the Back Cove 29 is practical, a delight to drive and a joy to behold. ALLEGRO shows very well having been stored inside all summer, with pre-paid inside winter storage for 2020-2021 included.

VESSEL WALK-THROUGH

The large cockpit has twin transom seats, covered in Sunbrella, with backrest bolsters.  Along the coamings are two rod holders, and aft is the swim platform with a recessed swim ladder tucked underneath. Also in the cockpit are the hot/cold cockpit shower and salt water washdown. Forward in the helm deck is an L-settee to port with storage below, a companion pedestal seat with storage below, and to starboard is a helm pedestal seat. The side windows in the helm deck slide open, the center windshield opens, and overhead are two opening hatches above the pedestal seats. The helm deck lifts up to provide easy access to the entire engine room.

Through the teak double doors is the companionway to the below decks cabin with its varnished cherry interior. Below is a straight galley to port, and opposite is an electric fresh-water head with a hand-held shower. Forward is a V-berth and a hi-lo pedestal teak table with maple inlay that can serve as support for a filler to convert to a full beam berth. A cedar lined hanging locker is to starboard between the berth and head. There are light ash ceiling strakes to port and starboard, the overhead is white, and a large opening hatch and four opening ports for additional light and ventilation.

The durable high-pressure laminate sole, with its teak and holly styling, is in excellent condition, and the below decks reverse-cycle air conditioning/heat keeps things comfortable in all seasons.
