WINDWALKER II Takes to the Newport-Bermuda Race

01.13.20

Dan got together a friendly group of nine to do his third Newport-Bermuda Race since acquiring his Hood/Lyman-Morse 60 WINDWALKER II in 2010. The 635 mile bi-annual race was slow but steady, with limited swells allowing the boat to ghost along at 3-4 knots in 5-6 knots of breeze for hours at a time. The jovial crew enjoyed midnight ramblings, shorts at night and an almost limitless supply of stars not visible on land, before finishing in the middle of the pack on handicap exactly 4-1/2 days after the start, at 3 am local time.
