Chris Fairfax

Chris grew up in the picturesque seaside town of South Dartmouth, MA, where he quickly developed a liking for life on the water. Following graduation from the University of Vermont with a B.A. in History, Chris became a licensed captain and worked on a variety of yachts, including a Hood 50’ yawl that he sailed to Ireland, a Little Harbor 54 which he ran between the Great Lakes and Caribbean and an Oyster 68 that he and future wife Susan operated on charter throughout the Med and Caribbean. Other sailing highlights include working on the 90’ modern classic SAVANNAH and a Pacific crossing with Susan aboard an Oyster 56.

He “came ashore’ in 1999 to work at Little Harbor Yacht Brokers, followed by successful stops along the way at Hinckley, Hunt Yachts, Concordia Yacht Sales and Oyster Yachts. With this diverse background, he has acquired tremendous knowledge and first-hand experience with a wide variety of sail and motor yachts that he is eager to share with both clients and his colleagues at Wellington. His curiosity in others, professional experience, and passion for all things nautical make him a natural and candid advisor.

Chris now resides in South Dartmouth and is the proud father of two water-wise boys – Charlie and Will, who, along with wife Susan, are happiest when exploring, racing and cruising the waters of Buzzards Bay aboard their various craft, including a 1961 Ray Hunt 16’ deep-vee runabout, a Rhodes 19 and a 1974 Olin Stephens’ designed Tartan 34. And when not taking care of all of these boats… Chris also enjoys playing a bit of ice hockey and skiing with the family.
