Portsmouth, RI, US
A well-cared-for Alden 44, KISMET spent the majority of her life on San Francisco Bay, club racing, day-sailing and cruising.
KISMET has been a cherished member of the owners’ family, and it shows. Notable upgrades include a larger Yanmar 56 hp diesel engine, new standing rigging, hull Awlgrip and interior varnish. With aluminum toe rails and non-skid decks, KISMET does not have the exterior teak upkeep of other Alden 44s, keeping maintenance to a minimum.
The Alden 44 design is widely regarded as one of the best sailing yachts in its Class. Numerous reviews reference the common themes of comfort, excellent sea keeping, hand-built quality, liveaboard space, sailing performance and great looks.
KISMET features a positively buoyant, foil shaped and hydraulically operated keel/centerboard. With centerboard up the draft is 4’-11” allowing KISMET access to a wide variety of cruising grounds such the Chesapeake Bay and the Bahamas. With centerboard down, draft is 8’-9”.
KISMET is ready and awaiting your inspection.
