DIVA | Hunt Yachts Surfhunter 29 | 29ft

Portsmouth, RI, US

DIVA is a Hunt Surfhunter 29 with inboard Volvo D6 fully-electronic diesel with “fly by wire” throttle and shift, mated to a Volvo duoprop sterndrive. DIVA features a Northern Lights generator -- rare on a Surfhunter 29 -- with 16,000 BTU’s of air conditioning on the bridge deck and below in the interior cabin and head. She makes a fantastic north/south pocket cruiser which can be run comfortably from inside the enclosed bimini virtually year-round.

The deep-vee hull with 22 degrees of deadrise at the transom, along with substantial running strakes allow this boat to track well even in following seas, providing the soft and amazingly-dry ride the Surfhunter Line is known for.

This engine/sterndrive combination is a great match for the hull, and the result is best-in-class handling and fuel economy on a boat that goes nicely at 12 knots on a plane, right on up to 27 knots fast cruise all day long, with max speed of 34 knots.

Flag Blue topsides with single white boot stripe, gold cove and green bottom. Tan Bimini top with matching tan “custom channel” cushions with blue piping and Moondust non-skid for a traditional look. Spacious cockpit and enclosed bridgedeck with large L-settee to port and teak ladderback pedestal chair at helm to starboard. Teak accents at helm, teak louvered companionway doors, teak hatch and glove box dress it up and are practical at the same time.

Excellent ventilation is provided by removable side curtains and side vent opening windows (front-facing) in the windshield. Belowdeck are several opening ports, a vent in the head and a large opening hatch. Screens for all opening ports and hatch. Sunbrella V-berth cushions and bolsters with matching curtains for the ports; tan with large blue stripes with tan pinstripe down the middle.

Sightlines from the helm and bridgedeck seating are excellent. Full-beam stern seat can be removed to open up the cockpit for fishing or hauling gear.

The interior features a vee-berth with filler and hanging locker. Teak and holly sole. A huge enclosed head with ensuite shower to starboard. The galley is to port with single-burner butane stove, stainless sink, microwave and 12/110v refrigeration.  Interior wood trim, doors and cabinetry in American Cherry.

Please call for a complete history of this vessel from conception to build to launch. With less than 700 hours, this boat and motor are just hitting their stride!! DIVA was originally very lightly used in Florida by an older couple for lunch runs and then came north, where she has been since with her second and now third owners. She is a handsome boat, very well equipped and benefits from new clear plastic curtains, fabric below, state-of-the-art Raymarine touchscreen GPS and digital radar, Autopilot, Icom VHF and additional USB outlets below for charging… and the list goes on!

The popularity of the Surfhunter 25 generated interest in a larger version, one with a bit more capacity and length, for longer open-water crossings and cozy overnighting. The Surfhunter 29 is more generous in cockpit and accommodations, offering standing headroom below, as well as an enclosed head with shower.
