CARAPACE is a hard-to-come-by Hunt Surfhunter 29 with true shoal draft.  Her inboard Yanmar 440 hp diesel paired with an UltraJet 305 waterjet with joystick control linked to a bow thruster allow ease of maneuverability around the dock. The deep-vee hull with 22 degrees of deadrise at the transom, along with substantial running strakes and custom trim tabs with skegs, allow this boat to track well and provide the soft and amazingly dry ride the Surfhunter line is known for.

This engine/jet combination is a great match for this hull, and the result is a wonderful jet boat that goes nicely at 15 knots on a plane, right on up to 24 knots fast cruise all day long, and a max speed of 32 knots.

Flag Blue topsides with single white boot stripe, gold cove and green bottom. Tan Bimini top with upgraded matching tan exterior Ultraleather cushions with blue piping and Moondust non-skid makes for a sharp look. Spacious cockpit and enclosed bridgedeck with large L-settee to port with optional second pedestal chair. Helm to starboard. Teak accents at helm, teak louvered companionway doors, teak hatch and glove box dress it up and are practical at the same time. Excellent ventilation provided by removable side curtains and side vent opening windows (front facing) in the windshield. Below are several opening ports, a solar fan and a large opening hatch. Screens for all opening ports and hatch and tan Ultrasuede curtains with blue stripe for the ports to match the blue Ultrasuede V berth cushions and bolsters.

Sightlines from the helm and bridgedeck seating are excellent. Full beam stern seat can be removed to open up the cockpit for fishing or hauling gear.

The interior features a vee-berth with filler and hanging locker. Teak and holly sole. A huge enclosed head with ensuite shower to starboard. The galley is to port with single-burner butane stove, stainless steel sink, microwave and refrigerator. Interior wood trim, doors and cabinetry in American Cherry.

Please call for a complete history of this vessel from conception to build to launch. With less than 600 hours, this boat and motor are just hitting their stride!!  CARAPACE was featured on the Cover of Soundings Magazine. She is one gorgeous vessel!!

The popularity of the Surfhunter 25 generated interest in a larger version, one with a bit more capacity and length, for longer open-water crossings and cozy overnighting. The Surfhunter 29 is more generous in cockpit and accommodations, offering standing headroom below, as well as an enclosed head with shower.
