The S&S designed, Morris 42 was a runaway success when introduced. The 42’s easily outsailed the other elegant daysailors by Friendship and Hinckley and the deck, halyard and sheeting arrangements were remarkable in their efficiency with all control lines, sheets and halyards leading to the cockpit and within easy reach of the helmsperson, leaving the deck clear.
