The 335 EX’s construction starts with a resin-infused hull, a renowned process EdgeWater calls Single Piece Infusion, or ‘SPI’ for short. The SPI process delivers a significantly higher strength-to-weight ratio than traditional open-molded construction because the hull structure is bonded in one chemical process, with a much higher laminate fiber content which consists of layers of biaxial, triaxial, and quad-axial knitted fiberglass. The glass is impregnated with resin applied under a 14.7 psi of vacuum pressure squeezing the fabric against the mold, guaranteeing complete saturation and no excess resin, which results in maximum strength-to-weight ratios. That gives the boat more mph per horsepower. For additional strength at minimal weight penalty, urethane foam coring is used in the hull topsides.

As with previous models, EdgeWater enlisted Marine Concepts to help develop this new model and to build the tooling. Computer design and three-dimensional modeling created a hull that runs efficiently with twin Yamaha F350 four-stroke outboards. With the 335, the single-piece grid structure gets filled with foam for strength and flotation. Within this grid are dedicated pods for the fuel tanks and generator. The design of the one-piece grid provides smooth finishes in the bilge and other compartments, and optimal placement of under-deck hardware.

The transom is cored with fiber-reinforced foam board, a material most often associated with offshore racers. Notably, no wood is used in the core or construction - this eliminates concerns about moisture weeping and rotting.

The deck is fitted with two live wells, a 600-quart insulated fish box and enough rod holders and rocket launchers for a quiver of outfits. Switches for the live well pumps and spreader lights are located in the fighting cockpit to allow for easier access to crewmen/fishermen.

For routine maintenance, the under-deck area is well laid out with the batteries, charger and electrical connections outboard and to port; the water heater and holding tank are to starboard. Access is convenient for quick inspections and all bulkhead penetrations are lined to prevent chafing of wires and hoses.

The fuel tanks are outboard, with the generator centered for balance. At trolling speed the 335 is notably stable, offering anglers a confident fishing platform.

This model sports a performance-oriented keel pad that runs six feet forward from the transom. The pad, most commonly found on performance boats, provides added lift and lets EdgeWater mount the motors higher, reducing drag and improving the boat’s top-end speed.

Four lifting strakes and 21 degrees of transom deadrise give the hull exceptional lift, stability, and efficient wave-cutting performance.

Generally speaking, most owners have reported top speeds of 50 mph at 6,100 rpm, with the most efficient long-range cruising speed being around 30 mph at 4,200 rpm.

The ample storage, well-appointed galley, stand-up head, and surprisingly spacious cabin make the 335EX the perfect boat for deep sea fishing, escaping to the islands for a long weekend, or for overnighters at the dock. The modular sleeping arrangement down below can comfortably accommodate two-to-three adults in the primary berth plus several kids or small adults in the accessory berths.

Aboard the 335 EX, access to all the service items is provided via a large, centrally located in-sole hatch.

You enter the 335’s signature cabin through the sliding Plexiglas door to port. The cabin features more than 6 feet, 6 inches of headroom, and an overhead foredeck hatch and dual port lights provide natural lighting, while LED lamps illuminate the cabin after dark. With the main berth in the forepeak, and the convertible galley table/sleeper and large aft berth, the 335 can easily sleep a family or 3-4 single adults. The aft berth includes a U-shaped seating area for relaxing. An enclosed head with electric toilet and shower comes with a 4.2-gallon water heater. The forward galley comes with a two-burner flush cooktop and a refrigerator/freezer. Wood laminate cabinetry, marble countertops and ultra-leather upholstery add to the rich, yacht-like finish.

This boat has a notably deep cabin with higher-than-average headroom. A small, C-shaped dinette area includes a beautiful teak table which drops to form a berth which nicely compliments the larger forward V-berth.

Saltwater Sportsman

“This comfortable cabin boat passes the fishability test with flying colors. The variable deadrise, deep-V bottom with reverse chines blends stability, fuel economy and dryness in the ride, and comes backed by a lifetime transferable warranty.”

Sport Fishing Magazine

"We feel that this boat resembles a Cabo with outboards,” says EdgeWater president Peter Truslow, referring to the engineering, features and exceptional finish work found in a noted industry benchmark. But the EdgeWater philosophy goes still further by making the boat unsinkable. Back in 1996, I defined EdgeWater as a small company living on the leading edge of technology. If anything, thats even truer today. The most noteworthy aspect of this 335 has to be its unusual construction technology - the company refers to it as SPI (Single Piece Infusion).”

Boating Mag

“You can see the quality and even the fluid lines of the boat in the showroom. But to see for yourself why we think the 335 EX cruises and fishes equally well, you need to schedule a test ride. EdgeWaters 335 EX is a big, brawny, do-it-all boat that runs great with just two outboards, albeit big ones. Combining Yamahas V-8 F350s, a full list of amenities and cutting-edge construction techniques, EdgeWater delivers a boat that cruises as well as it fishes while meeting the criteria of experienced boat owners."
