Somerset, MA, US
CADECEUS is an outstanding and ‘like new’ example of the Beneteau Oceanis 60 with naval architecture from Biscontini Yacht Design and interior and exterior design from Lorenzo Argento. She was the first of her kind to find her way to US waters and as such was outfitted with all the right kit.
This contemporary yacht is easy on the eye, easily driven, easy to handle and a delight to sail. With responsive twin wheels and rudders and the standard deeper draft keel she spins on a dime and accelerates out of a turn with purpose! The genoa can be rigged for self-tacking or led to tracks and winches for additional sheeting angles and performance. A built-in bow sprit and plumb bow are perfect for flying the Code-0. Electric 2-speed winches, a retractable cockpit bimini providing excellent sightlines to the mainsail, electronics at both helms, autopilot; in-mast furling; retractable stern thruster; Williams jet tender- even a hydraulic extendable passarelle for stern-to docking with self-deploying stanchions and lifelines- all to enhance fun and ease of use!
Living and cruising aboard are luxurious with optional modern amenities such as a water maker, wine cooler, ice maker, extra freezer space, underwater lights and full cockpit enclosure. Comfort is further enhanced with features like stand-up refrigeration in the galley, electric convertible cockpit tables and sunbeds, cockpit refrigeration, sun pads on the foredeck as well as under the dodger and a push-button fold-down transom with tender garage. All powered by an 11.5kW generator with ample air conditioning and reverse cycle heat.
Safety is also prioritized with a Flir mast-mounted night vision camera; Raymarine Clear Cruise; AIS transmit and receive and a full complement of safety gear for offshore use including life raft, MOB module, EPIRB, etc.
And let us not forget aesthetics, enhanced by handsome charcoal grey canvas, generous hull ports, grey boot and cove stripe and optional teak decking from stem to stern. Bravo!
CADECEUS and her owner just completed a delivery up the US East Coast from Charleston, SC to Newport RI - riding the Gulf Stream around Cape Hatteras all the while fishing, stargazing, crafting great meals and generally having a grand time with 200nm days in the log. We invite your inspection of this sparkling sailing machine, priced competitively and presented in true ‘sail away’ condition.

COCKPIT
A signature feature of this design is the innovative sliding cockpit bimini supported by the mainsail arch which allows for sun or shade for the ginormous cockpit and helm areas. This is an awesome set-up that transforms the cockpit - often the area where owners and guests spend the bulk of their time - into a ‘four season room’ for lounging, dining and watching all the fun comings and goings off the back of the boat. One cannot overstate the thoughtful design Beneteau has brought to bear in this space, taking full advantage of the generous beam carried all the way aft.
The fold down transom (with wireless remote) with built in steps and hydraulic passarelle for stern-to boarding complement the twin wheel layout, with large center walkthrough into the seating area. Convertible electric teak tables port and starboard for dining and cocktails mate with elongated L-shaped settees that convert into double berths and lounges. Forward of the settees and elevated under the protection of the large dodger are “companionway sundecks” with adjustable back rests (ratchet system) and built-in cupholders in the outboard cushion bolsters. The front of the dodger can be opened completely to allow copious amounts of air flow into this unique elevated lounge and into the cockpit itself. It is really quite well done and unique to this design.
Twin wheel steering stations are aft with all control lines and electric winches within easy reach. Line lockers beneath the settees in front of each helm are a nice touch. The helms may also be fully enclosed. Full GPS electronics and winch controls at each with black carbon-look wheels; stainless handrails and sole boards that may be partially lifted at an angle for a comfortable and safe stance when healing over.
Port Helm: autopilot, light switch panel, Benzoni passarelle controls and hi/low table switches and Plastimo ship’s compass.
Starboard Helm: Yanmar engine controls and gauge; Quick remote windlass control and chain counter, Sidepower bow/stern thruster controls; handheld Raymarine VHF and cradle.
Tender Garage: 1-touch ceiling LED’s; tender launching system; cockpit shower and freshwater inlet for rinsing tender
SALON INTERIOR
Below deck the Oceanis 60 boasts a three cabin / three head layout. There is also a crew cabin forward accessible from deck with bunks and a head which doubles as a large foc’sle with plenty of room for stowage of sails, gear and toys.
The salon has a beautiful and contemporary feel with a combination of fabric and ‘wood’ surfaces and lighting that is so attractive and so well laid out for comfort- incorporating a Nav station to starboard aft, with seating area forward. Inboard of this ‘loveseat’ settee is a small ‘island’ cabinet near centerline which creates an intimate space while also providing additional storage and countertop- finished in black, that plays well with the light grey cushions and darker grey table-top when folded small. This little counter has proper fiddles and is a great spot for all kinds of things from bottles of wine to candles and keys. Across to port is a large U-shaped settee with convertible electric table for dining and cocktails which also converts to a lounge/berth for movie nights or overflow guests. This too, is a super comfy and distinct sitting area which is adjacent to the port galley- perfect for today’s living. The galley is forward and spans the full beam of the salon with a walk-thru to the forward owner’s cabin and private head with separate stall shower. Identical quarter cabins with large double berths and heads with separate showers are found aft either side of a wide and gentle companionway.
Large hull ports, deck ports (fixed and opening) and centerline overhead hatches - all with shades provide plenty of natural light and ventilation and privacy when desired.
