We’re pleased to announce the sale of MATAWAI, a beautifully maintained Oyster 655 designed by Rob Humphreys. A standout of Oyster’s G5 generation, the 655 series blends performance sailing with long-range cruising comfort, utilizing carbon fiber and Kevlar construction for strength without excess weight.
MATAWAI featured the highly sought-after four-cabin, three-head layout, ideal for both owner-operators and professional crew. Her expansive owner’s suite included private deck access, perfect for extended liveaboard cruising. The yacht was also uniquely equipped with forward access to the large foc’sle and a full-beam lazarette aft—offering unmatched storage for offshore gear and toys like downwind sails, dive equipment, and paddleboards.
Her sunken galley, open to the salon, reflected a modern layout for entertaining, while her cockpit stole the show with twin helms, a teak dining table with built-in refrigeration, and ample, protected seating. The large aft deck provided additional lounging space and seamless access to the water.
MATAWAI was extensively updated in 2012, 2014, 2020, and 2022, and was meticulously maintained. She represented one of the best examples of the Oyster 655 on the market.
